Meet Steve – Another of our Field Service Operatives

Steve Giles is one of our hard working Field Service Operators. We’ve asked him some questions about him and his role…

What is your role at Hygenie?

I am a Field Service Operative.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I enjoy the variety of my work. No two days are ever the same! I travel to sites in different towns and cities throughout the Midlands and surrounding areas. I visit a diverse range of sites including Nurseries, Schools, Hospitals, Factories, Offices, Pubs, Hotels, Warwick Castle, theatres… and the list goes on! Meeting the needs of our customers gives me the satisfaction of a job well done. I particularly enjoy the days when we service the University Colleges in Oxford as this involves working as part of a team.

What is your top recommended product?

I would recommend the oxygen air freshener. Lots of customers are very complimentary about their long lasting fragrance. They don’t emit any harmful emissions, solvents of propellants. Plus the refill is 100% recyclable.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe the team at Hygenie?

Friendly, reliable and hard working.

What do you like to do outside of work?

On the weekends I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, especially our get togethers for a catch up over Sunday lunch. We’re always entertained by our two grand daughters! We enjoy going out for meals with friends, watching live bands and visiting the cinema. We love travelling – especially cruise holidays. Italy is our favourite destination!

Before working at Hygenie, what was the most interesting job you’ve had?

I had various jobs in the retail trade which I enjoyed. But after getting married (and a mortgage!) I moved jobs and started work in an iron foundry. This was a complete contrast but thoroughly enjoyable, especially the camaraderie amongst work colleagues.
