Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust
Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) has appointed Hygenie, a provider of washrooms services, to ensure that the management of sanitary waste is dealt with more effectively as part of a constant review of procedures.
There are a number of legal strict legal requirements that sanitary waste disposal must comply with including – Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulation: the Environment Protection Act; The Water Industries Act and the Duty of Care Regulations. An internal review of the services delivered by the existing provider had identified the need to address risks of cross contamination, ligature and to provide more effective sanitary units. BSMHFT initiated a market testing exercise to identify providers that offered a proven solution to address this issue and selected Hygenie.
Hygenie started working with BSMHFT in October 2014 and the new approach has delivered the improvements and benefits required. BSMHFT now guarantees that washroom services meet legislation requirements and that the right services and products are delivered in the right place. They are delighted with the service offering from Hygenie.

I just wanted to show my appreciation to you and mainly Julia Jeyes and how happy I am with the service.
Julia is always punctual, polite and professional at all times and she is a pleasure to have around the site. She always does her job with care and is accommodating when it comes to sending site staff over to other locations.
I couldn't get anyone over to our Chelmsley wood site straight after her visit to solihull, so she went off to do another job and went over a little later.
I have only been here for 3 months, but all staff on site speak very highly of her and what she does.
I just wanted to say that I met a very pleasant woman by the name of Julie who has serviced our scheme at Woodside, and it was a pleasure to meet her and speak with her also.
She conducted her duties as a professional in which she was engaging with our tenants, which was good to see and hear.
We don’t have many contractors that interact with out tenants, but Julie took her time and explained to us what she was here for and her surroundings for her to conduct her duties.
Just wanted to say that Theresa is great, we have varied opening times meaning that accessing our site on a schedule can be a challenge, Theresa has been communicative, professional and is accommodating at all times and always turns up with a smile on her face.
Just a quick note about Chloe who has visited today, she is always friendly and chatty.
Does her job very quickly and efficiently when she visits the Head Office.
I just wanted to take the time to recognise Terena and Julia, this morning and every time they are here really!
They are absolutely brilliant, they were working so hard this morning with heavy mats we could see they were tired, yet they were highly professional and interacting with UCB staff and customers with regards to the logo and positioning of the mats. Which made me think, they are the only subcontractors i have on site that i never need to manage or babysit, they come in do their jobs efficiently and work well with the client!
Super impressed with them!
I would just like to mention I am very happy with Tarina’s service.
She always very polite and definitely lights up the clinic when she comes in.
Always goes and extra mile buy wiping down my bloods bin and answer any questions we may have.
Very respectful when I have customers in clinic too.
