Fundraising well above par at £2866!

All the Hygenie team love to get involved in community initiatives and make a positive impact.

Our latest activity has been getting involved in a golf day and BBQ at Nuneaton Golf Club’s ‘Captain’s Weekend’ raising £2866 for two fantastic charities.

This was particularly exciting for Lee, one of our Managing Directors, because he got to have even more time doing his favourite hobby!

Lee has taken on the role of Club Captain at Nuneaton Golf Club as of Febuary 2023 – a promotion from being vice-captain last year! Alongside him is Karen, the Ladies Captain.

Lee’s chosen charity this year is the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, which holds a special place in our hearts, while Karen’s is another very worthy organisation, Against Breast Cancer.

The weekend consisted of a golf day and dinner dance, followed by a barbeque the next day provided by Hygenie’s MDs, Cosette and Lee.

Thank you to everyone that gave prizes to help fundraise, including:

About Mary Ann Evans Hospice

Mary Ann Evans Hospice is a local charity working with families across Warwickshire providing palliative care and bereavement support. As a community-based hospice, they provide care directly into the homes of patients, allowing them to be with their friends and family until the end of their life.

Their services are free for patients and their families or carers, however, there is a significant cost involved in providing the wide range of care. It costs around £2.5 million a year to run Mary Ann, but they receive less than 30% of their funding from the NHS and Commissioners.

This means they rely heavily on donations and fundraising to cover over £1.8 million per year. That means £5000 needs to be raised every single day. The support they receive from the local community makes a huge difference in enabling them to continue to provide exceptional care and support.
