The IWSA stands for Independent Washroom Services Association. The organisation helps schools and colleges, hospitals and healthcare companies and more find a local, independent and professional washroom services provider.
Becoming a member of the IWSA is recognition of our high levels of service, as we abide by their strict codes of conduct. The IWSA say “We ensure each member is an accredited organisation that is not only able to deliver the services that the customer requires but also that they are able to perform to a high standard to compete individually and confidently with the multi-national corporations.”
“Each member is continually vetted to ensure the standards are being met relating to their sales practices, installation of equipment, servicing, accounting and customer liaison and 100% compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.”
As part of our membership, we’ll be donating every month to the Toilet Twinning scheme, which raises funds to provide proper toilets, clean water and hygiene education in some of the poorest communities in the world. Without a toilet, people are trapped in a cycle of ill-health, and the scheme is aiming to put a stop to this.
The charity’s approach is to encourage families to build their own toilets, after their team has taught them about the importance of sanitation and basic hygiene practice.
They provide the training and materials, but generally the families themselves do the hard work, digging the pit and constructing the toilet. In this way, they have ‘ownership’ of their loo and will keep on using it.
