Hygenie Donates to Ukraine Crisis

It’s truly awful what’s happening in Ukraine, there’s no doubt about it. The team at Hygenie all put our heads together to discuss ways in which we can help families that are caught up in this horrific war.

So here’s what we’ve done so far, and we hope that it inspires you to help/donate in any way you can too…

Donated Items to Poplars Farm Shop

Poplars Farm Shop, a lovely organisation based not too far away from Hygenie HQ, put out a request on social media for items they were gathering for Ukraine families in need. Dee, who works in the farm shop cafe, has family in Ukraine and has teamed up with Polish Knights, a registered charity.

The charity intends to use the farm shop as a collection point for required items. So Poplars Farm will accept the donations and deliver them to a point where they can be loaded onto a lorry and onwards to a destination where it can be of benefit.

Some of the items they listed we could supply, so we got in touch to get things going. The Hygenie team put together boxes of hand sanitiser, sanitising wipes, tablets, gloves and more, and we shot down to Poplars Farm Shop to donate.

Follow Poplars Farm Shop on Facebook, and if you’re close to Nuneaton and there are any items you’re able to supply to them, please get in touch with them to organise.

Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal Donation

18 million people are projected to become affected by the conflict, and 4 million people are expected to be displaced. The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal is assisting Ukrainian refugees by providing food, water, health assistance, protection and trauma care.

When we learnt about the appeal, we were in awe of what they were doing and felt we needed to support. Therefore, we’ve donated £200. Here is what the money will go towards:

  • £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
  • £50 could provide blankets for four families
  • £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month

You can learn more about the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal here, and also donate what you can.
