£1700 Raised for Local Hospice

Lee, one of the Managing Directors at Hygenie, is the Vice Captain of Nuneaton Golf Club for this year and Captain next year.

The chosen charity to support in his role over these 2 years is the Mary Ann Evans Hospice. A charity very close to our hearts as they helped Lee’s dad, Cliff, with end of life care last year.

Last weekend we had a ‘Vice Captain’s night’, with great fun being had as well as an amazing amount of money raised for the hospice! Here are just some of the companies that donated prizes to help fundraise:

• Coombe Abbey Hotel donated an overnight stay in a feature room with dinner, bed and breakfast – £330 was raised for this prize!
• Experienced Energy Solutions
• Envirosave
• And us, Hygenie!

And Ben, the Sales Consultant at Hygenie, sang for free on the night and entertained us all with a full set!

In total We raised over £1700 on the night and Mary Ann Evans Hospice will be Lee’s charity of choice for the next two years, so lots more events to come!

About Mary Ann Evans Hospice

Mary Ann Evans Hospice is a local charity working with families across Warwickshire providing palliative care and bereavement support. As a community-based hospice, they provide care directly into the homes of patients allowing them to be with their friends and family until the end of their life.

Their services are free for patients and their families or carers, however, there is a significant cost involved in providing the wide range of care. It costs around £2.5 million a year to run Mary Ann but they receive less than 30% of their funding from the NHS and Commissioners.

This means they rely heavily on donations and fundraising to cover over £1.8 million per year. That is £5000 we need to raise every single day. The support they receive from the local communities makes a huge difference and enables them to continue to provide exceptional care and support for patients and their families.
